Payback?

After a day of teasing my dad for being a "VIP" cruiser, we head to dinner with the people we attended the cruise with.  We are sitting at the table in the nice restaurant enjoying good food and great conversation with family friends.  I was really into the conversation. My mom and dad are sitting directly across from me, my sister was to my left at the head of the table, and Thomas' dad (my dad's friend) was sitting next to me.  I am talking to my parents when all of a sudden someone comes up from behind.  They put their arm around me and say arrrrrr.  It is a pirate. Of course, I am scared out of my mind. I scream loudly and dang near end up in Thomas' dad's lap (approx. a 70 yr old man).  Everyone in the dinner looks around to see what is going on.  I must have screamed like my life depended on it.  There is a photographer that captures this moment.  Everyone at the table including my parents are laughing hysterically. I am still sitting there trying to calm myself down. Apparently, my dad saw the pirate come up from behind and he told him to be quiet. If you know my dad, this is right up his alley especially since I had been hounding him about being a  "VIP" cruiser.  My dad waited all night until they put that picture up.

A few nights later my sister and I were trying to by some other photos.  A carnival cruise worker proceeds to tell me he knows me.  I look at him and say "Know you don't." He insists, "I do know you." I look at him again and say "Know you don't." He says yes I do. I was the photographer that took your picture the other night when that pirate scared you.  He then tells me that it is the most hilarious thing he has seen in his life.  I really didn't think the whole situation was funny at the time, but I am glad I could be somebody's entertainment for the night. Of course, these things only happen to me.  I will publish the picture as soon as I scan it in.

  1. Hi I followed link from At Home with Best Friends.

I am glad to have, because otherwise i would have missed out a good nice story this morning!

I know those moments- NOT FUNNY at someone else's expense, especially it's ours!! Takes a while before we loosen up and join in the laugh. :) Silver
